about

Melissa Leong is a Sydney-based food journalist writing in the blogosphere for publications such as Urban Grocer and Daily Addict as well as for magazine publications such as Time Out Sydney. She has written for the Australian Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide 2010 and is currently working on The Foodie’s Guide to Sydney, 2011.

Melissa says her love of food stems from childhood, when her mother used to give her yum cha dumplings, or the odd bento box for lunch when the other kids at school had Devon sangas and Kraft singles. In 2007, Melissa started her blog Put It In Your Mouth (fooderati.blogspot.com) in a bid to stop having to email recommendations on places to eat and recipes to cook for her friends and colleagues.

Currently focused on growing her body of work, she also works as a food media consultant, representing clients such as Adriano Zumbo, Tastevin Bistro and The Corner House.
